Lecture on, ‘state of cooperative movement in J&K’ held by IIPA

To make cooperative societies profitable and result oriented, the Cooperative movement in the state needs revitalized to promote ‘voluntarism’ in the formation of diversified cooperative societies.
This was stated by the Chief Secretary B. R. Kundal while speaking at a function organized by the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) J&K Regional Branch Jammu here the other day.
Kundal asked Registrar Cooperatives to serve as guide in establishing more and more cooperative societies in the state adding that reactivation of cooperative sector has immense potential for boosting economy and generating employment for the youth of this state. “For making the society self-relent, professional management is a must” he maintained.
Chief Secretary called for immolating Milk Cooperative societies of the Gujarat where they have even surpassed government in making quality in availability of sugar besides in booming in consumer business ventures through out country.
Ex. Chief Secretary, Mr. S.S. Bloriea who is also chairman of IIPA in his address stressed the need of democratizing the working of cooperatives to make them more result oriented. He asked the cooperative department to reorganize and frame more societies by providing them all logistic help.
Honorary Secretary IIPA J&K Branch Mr. Ashok Bhan in his welcome address highlighted the role of IIPA in providing a platform to organize various programmes of public importance. He said such activity always have a positive impact on the minds of people whose mobilization is must for promoting cooperative culture in the state.
G. N. Qasba in his speech dwelt in detail on the working of cooperative societies giving details about agriculture credit and in puts, micro finance dairy and poultry production. He also highlighted notable achievements of cooperative institutions and made a mention of national awards one by them.
Among others Divisional Commissioner Jammu Mr. Sudhanshu Pandey, Commissioner Secretary Cooperatives and vice chairman IIPA Mr. Ram Sahai attended the function.
