| Transporter involved in firing arrested | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 28 Gandhi Nagar police today arrested a transporter involved in opening fire in air at Ramgarh area last night and later fleeing away. The alleged accused was wanted in case pending in Police Station Ramgarh. According to reports, last night, two masked men opened fire in the area during the BSP Party meeting near the Sub District Hospital at Ramgarh. Reports said that after firing two rounds in the air, the masked men fled away from the spot. The firing gripped the area in panic and the locals started collecting on the spot to know the reasons. According to reports Harjeet Singh Randhawa alias Raju resident of Vijaypur is reported to have opened fire. After hearing the gun shots a police team from Ramgarh rushed to spot where the locals told them the identity of one of the alleged accused. Police have also registered a case in this regard and flashed the identified person’s name on its net work and took up the investigations. Sources said the masked men opened fire in the area to disturb the meeting which was organized for the preparation of the today’s party function. Sources said late night the leaders of the party also reported the matter to senior leaders of the party. Sources said after flashing the message on its net work, the Gandhi Nagar police team, under the direction of SDPO Sukdev Raj Bhasin during checking in the area, arrested the alleged accused person from Gole Market and took him to police station for further interrogation. Sources said, Gandhi Nagar police also contacted Ramgarh police who confirmed that the alleged accused was wanted in some other case pending in police station. |
