| Khakhi pinches khakhi | | Binged SOG personals misbehave with colleagues | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 28 A senior police officer posted at a main post and known as an honest and strict officer complained to Director General of Police against some Special Operation Group (SOG) personnel for attending the duty after a liquor binge, highly placed sources said. Sources informed that few days back some SOG personals after having booze not only tried to make a forced entry to the District Police Lines (DPL Jammu) but also attempted to manhandle the policemen on duty. According to an insider the personnel deployed on the main gate declined the offer to open the gate at late night hours and suggested the late comers (the SOG personals) to go back and come in the scheduled visiting hours. ‘The irked SOG personnel not only dared to abuse the policemen at the gate way of the DPL but also bashed them,” sources said. Sources added that the SOG Jammu also called their senior officer and got the sentries posted on the main gate who also backed his men despite knowing the reality. Insider also maintained that this senior officer of the SOG simply passed on stern instructions to allow the SOG personals to enter into the premises. Sources added the senior SOG officer simply hushed up the matter by saying that I am authority to question about their entry in DPL Jammu and in what capacity you can ask. Adding to the incident the sources also mentioned that after having a meeting reported the matter to their officers and also decided to file a complaint to DGP in this regard. Sources said the senior police officer after receiving the complaint wrote a letter to the Director General of Police stating that the SOG Jammu were harassing the local public and the police personnel. Sources revealed that letter also mentioned some incidents of harassment by the SOG personals. However it was also mentioned that SOG cadres got the whole matter hushed up and even got the written complaint withdrawn much before from the Director General of Police. |
