| Auxiliary police in J&K to be imparted specialised training | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 29 Auxiliary police in Jammu and Kashmir will be imparted specialised training on modern lines to deal with disaster management. "We are in the process of forming two companies of auxiliary police, one each at Jammu and Srinagar, which shall be imparted specialised training on modern lines to deal with the disaster management," IGP, Homeguards, Auxiliary Police and Civil Defence, Naveen Agarwal, said on Thursday. In normal times, auxiliary police and homeguards were deployed to check the law and order, security and traffic. Civil defence was added after the Indo-Pak war in 1965. The IGP said we have also taken in hand the modernisation of civil defence and give the personnel specialised training with logistic support and modern equipment. |
