| CS for revitalizing cooperative movement in J&K | | | Early Times Reporer Jammu | Nov 29 To make cooperative societies more profitable and result oriented, the Cooperative movement in the state need to be revitalized said the Chief Secretary while speaking at a function organized by the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) J&K Regional Branch Jammu. The CS asked Registrar Cooperatives to serve as a guide in establishing more and more cooperative societies in the state adding that these have immense potential for boosting economy and generating employment for the youth. "For making the societies self-relent, professional management is a must" he maintained. Chief Secretary called for emulating Milk Cooperative Societies of the Gujarat where these have even surpassed government in making available quality sugar besides booming in consumer business ventures through out country. Ex. Chief Secretary, S.S. Bloriea, who is also chairman of IIPA, in his address while stressing the need of democratizing the working of cooperatives to make these more result oriented asked the cooperative department to strive for formation of more societies by providing them all logistic support. Honorary Secretary IIPA J&K Branch Ashok Bhan in his welcome address highlighted the role of IIPA in providing a platform to organize various programs of public importance. He said such activities always have a positive impact on the minds of people whose mobilization is imperative for promoting cooperative culture in the state. G. N. Qasba Registrar Cooperative dwelt in detail on the working of cooperative societies giving details about agriculture credit and inputs, micro finance dairy and poultry production. He also highlighted notable achievements of cooperative institutions and made a mention of national awards won by them. Among others Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sudhanshu Pandey, Commissioner Secretary Cooperatives and vice chairman IIPA Ram Sahai attended the function. |
