| Solider attempts suicide near LoC | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 29 A solider of 12 Sikh LI was critically wounded when he made unsuccessful attempt to end his life at Palanwala sector near Line of Control in Akhnoor, about 45 kilometers from here. Informed sources told News Agency of Kashmir that Hawaldar Tarseem Singh of 12 Sikh Light Infantry - who was deployed at Palanwala post on LoC - was critically injured after he fired on himself with his service weapon. On hearing gunshots his colleagues rushed to the post and found him in pool of blood, sources told NAK, adding, he was immediately shifted to Akhnoor Army hospital where he was operated upon. "Hawaldar Singh had received gunshot in abdomen and was critically wounded", sources said. When contacted defence spokesman Lt SD Goswami that Hawaldar Tarseem Singh was admitted in MH Akhnoor with gunshot wounds, adding court of inquiry has been ordered in this regard. Army has also lodged FIR with Palanwala Police Post, he added. |
