Social, literary organizations vital for harmonious growth: Azad

Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has said that social, literary and cultural organizations play an important role in harmonious growth of the society enriching its ethos.
Addressing 75th anniversary function of Amar Singh Club here last evening, the Chief Minister said that the club should set up its branches at district headquarters also to provide place for entertainment for tourists and locals. He said that government has launched massive infrastructure development in key sectors of education, road connectivity, power, water supply and health across the state, adding that the clubs could contribute by setting up their branches in promotion of entertainment and leisure tourism in the districts. He said that the state has vast potential for promotion of adventure, sports, pilgrim and leisure tourism and efforts are on to tap this potential for generating employment and economy.
The Chief Minister while greeting the functionaries and members of the club on its 75th anniversary assured all possible support in growth of the club.
Former Chef Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah said that it is an occasion for the club to celebrate its 75th anniversary. He appreciated the management for creating excellent facilities.
Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and Vice President of Club Mr. Anil Goswami dwelling on growth of the club said that it has a membership of 1250. He gave details of the facilities already created in the club and those in the pipeline.

Minister for Roads and Buildings GS Charak, Minister for Rural Development Jugal Kishore Sharma, Chief Justice Himachal Pradesh High Court Justice V. K. Gupta, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sudhanshu Pandey, Mayor JMC Narinder Singh, Yogesh Sawhney, Devinder Rana legislators, besides members of the club were present.
A cultural programme was also presented on the occasion.
