| 20 road projects under PMGSY sanctioned for Doda, Kishtwar district : Taj | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Nov 29 Minister for CAPD and Sheep & Animal Husbandry, Taj Mohi-ud-Din, said that government has initiated a number of reformative measures for infrastructural development of rural and far-off pockets of the state. He said that completion of all ongoing developmental projects in stipulated time frame has been prioritized so that common masses could get its benefit well in time. Addressing a series of mammoth public gatherings at Bleesa, Khra and Bathssi of Doda district during his 3- day tour to twin districts of Doda and Kishtwar, Taj said better road connectivity is essential for socio-economic transformation of the inhabitants of far-off and hilly areas. He said due to sincere efforts and people-friendly policies of government, a network of roads and bridges has been made available to the people especially the ruralties to steer the state towards massive development. He said that like other parts of the state, Doda and Kishtwar districts are also getting its due share for developmental activities adding that 20 road projects under PMGSY have been sanctioned for these districts and work on 10 projects at the cost of Rs. 27 crore is in progress. He said the road projects under execution included Kunal-Jar, Dandi-Banjwah, Guzar-Kakarwagno, Mulwarwan-Nopachi, Gulabgar-Ligri and Atholi-Palali roads in Kishtwar district and Jodpor to Parshalla, Kahra to Panta, Jakial-Gandoh in Doda district. He said the construction work on other 10 road projects would be taken up soon. The Minister called upon the people to prefer sheep and goat rearing as their livelihood which is more profitable venture for them and said that a sheep centre would be set up at Bathsi. He said that LPG for Bleesa would be supplied direct from Jammu and the matter for providing free ration to the draught affected areas also would be considered. Chairman Social Advisory Board and local MLA G. M. Saroori also addressed public meetings and highlighted achievements registered by Azad government in the state. Directors CAPD, Sheep and Animal Husbandry, senior officers and engineers accompanied the Minister. |
