| Sub-standard seed, pesticide dealers fined | | | Early Times Reporter

Assistant Director, Law Enforcement, Kuldeep Razdan along with Enforcement Inspector of Agriculture Department, Balbir Singh Bhatyal visited Battal Ballian Industrial Area Udhampur to check quality of seed, fertilizer and pesticides lying with dealers.
Modern Insecticide Ltd., Safex Chemical Ltd. and Northern Minerals Limited located in Battal Ballian and 4 insecticide, 9 seed were inspected and 12 fertilizer samples were collected from different dealers of Udhampur district. The dealers have also been warned to desist from stocking and selling sub-standard seeds and pesticides.
Till date, 141 samples of seeds, 180 of fertilizers and 22 samples of pesticides have been collected by Enforcement Inspector from twin districts of Udhampur and Reasi out of which 13 samples of seeds and 3 samples of insecticide were found sub-standard. A fine of Rs.13400 was collected from the defaulters. Four cases of seeds and two of insecticides are under progress in the Court of Law. |
