| Musical prog marks golden jubilee cultural academy | | | Early Times Reporter Doda | Nov 30 As part of Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the State Academy of Art, Cultural and Languages its Sub-Office at Doda organized Music programme at Chanderkote, District Ramban in which the District Development Commissioner Ramban AD Shinas was the Chief Guest while Chemma DIG BSF presided. Welcoming the noted artists and the audience, Dr. Rafeeq Masoodi Secretary Cultural Academy stated that the Academy is making all out efforts to promote and preserve the rich and diverse culture of all regions of the state. The activities of the Academy have been extended to hitherto unexplored pockets of the state to spot the artistic talent. In its Golden Jubilee year the Academy is envisaging to organize innovative programs in Art, Culture and Literature, he added. Aijaz Hussain, Zulaikha Farid, Subash Langeh, Neelam Langeh, Bashir Mastana, Milkhi Ram Mastana, Farooq Khokhar and Rashid Jahangir enthralled the audience with Urdu, Kashmiri, Dogri, Punjabi, Gojjri and Bhadarwahi ghazals and songs. Speaking on the occasion, the DDC pleaded the cause of cultural milieu of Ramban District and thanked the Secretary Academy for visiting Chanderkote (Ramban) which is otherwise a sleepy wayside township. D.I.G. B.S.F. also addressed the gathering comprising District Officers, prominent citizens of Ramban and Chanderkote, music lovers and social activists. F.A. Faridi, Cultural Officer conducted the programme and also presented formal vote of thanks. |
