Villagers seek construction of bridges

A massive congress workers rally was held at Marsoo in Doda Distt. here today in which hundreds of congress workers hailing from Seraj area participated. Mohd ShariefNiaz Ex Power Minister and MLC was the Chief Guest in the in the rally.
Speakers on the occasion demanded immediate construction of bridges at Mursoo and Trungal which were submerged in the river Chenab due to the construction of Bhagilar Hydel Project last year. They said over one lakhs population of Seraj area have been effected due to the Non-availably of the roads and bridges and added that three schools going children were drowned in the river when their boat was capsized some time back there is no bridge from Ramban to Puldoda and population of the Siraj area was badly affected. They also demanded a roads link from Ramban to Thakrai via Siraz and Rambhan to Kastigarh, they also raised the demands for providing adequate teaching staff in the Govt. hr. School Neeltop and opening of a Public Health Centre in Seraz area. The people of the area also demanded that the crane (Gandola) established at Mursoo area by private contractor should be allowed for free of charges for crossing over the Chenab river for all as assured by the Chief Minister Gulam Nabi Azad during a meeting with deputionist of the area, but his direction was not implemented till yet. Mr. Niaz while addressing the gathering assured them their all demands would be taken up the Hon 'ble Chief Minister and Distt. Administration for the immediately redressal.Mr. Niaz also highlighted the achievements of the Govt. led by Mr. Gulam Nabi Azad in the field of developments, creation of new colleges, bridges, road links, creation of eight districts and tehsils, implementation of Roshni Act in the state and raising the quota of promotion to SC/ST in the Govt. jobs. Others who spoke on the occasion Sr. Congress Leader Sham Lal Bhagat, Om Parkash Sharma, and Sat Pal Parihar and Mohd Hanif Shah etc.
