| Lakhanpur police arrests stabbing accused | | | Early Times Reporter Kathua | Nov 30 Lakhanpur police today arrested the main kingpin involved in attacking a shopkeeper in the area some days back and registered a case in this regard. According to reports on Nov 27, three persons on a motorcycle attacked one shopkeeper namely Vinod Kumar son of Sham Lal resident of Lakhanpur with sharp edged weapons when he was on way to home after closing the shop in which he got serious injuries. Reports said, after the incident, the attackers fled from the spot with the motorcycle of the victim and leaving behind their unnumbered motorcycle. Reports revealed that the locals who spotted the incident informed police and later police took the seriously injured person to hospital for treatment. Sources said the injured person in his statement to police said that he didn’t know the identity of the attackers. Sources said police seized the motorcycle of the attackers from the spot and registered a case in this regard. On the direction of SSP Kathua JP Singh, police team led by SHO Lakhanpur Karanjeet Singh started investigating the matter. Sources said police traced the record of unnumbered motorcycle of the attackers and after investigating the matter arrested the main kingpin namely Rohit Singh alias Rohni son of Daljeet Singh resident of Manke Talab, Kathua from a hideout and took him to police station for further interrogation. During interrogation he is reported to have confessed that he along with two others namely Raj Kumar Raju alias Dhana son of Ram Rattan resident of Sher Singh Mandi Kathua and Mohd Shafi son of Babu Din resident of Krishna Colony Kathua attacked the shopkeeper and accordingly the police launched a hunt to nab the other attackers as well. A case under section 307, 34/341,323.379 RPC under FIR No 74/2007 has been registered against the attackers. |
