Those who spread the rumour said that there can be no surprise when another former Chief Secretary,Vijay Bakaya, had joined the National Conference.Later sources in the BJP disclosed that Ashok Khajuria had invited Ashok Jaitley to the party headquarters over a cup of tea.The sources said that there was no question of Ashok Jaitley joining the BJP because his political views,as a supporter of the National Conference, were diametrically opposed the ideology of the BJP. The sources said that two sides had a detailed discussion on the intriguing change in the demographic character of the state while reference was made to the increase of population of the Kashmir valley by over 11 lakhs as compared to the Jammu region in the 2001 census when in earlier surveys the increase ranged between four to five lakhs.
