| Parties painting city in their colours to woo masses | | Congress, BJP, BSP fritter away cash | | Govind Chouhan Jammu | Nov 30 Political parties are on a splurge upon to woo the masses either to appease their leadership or to create an illusion that they have gained the roots in the city. Bhartiya Janta Party marked the city with Saffronization to mark the arrival of the Raj Nath Singh the senior party leader and national president which compelled the Congress to turn the city to Congress colour to mark the reopening of the Government Offices i.e. the Durbar Move. Be it any political party but all seemed to be on spending spree to woo the masses that they are the masters in the city. Though all political parties including PDP and NC too the local cadre of the all moves abreast to paint the city in their colours but the way the Bahujan Samaj Party has left the city to blue it has set the debate in town that why political parties become spendthrift to mark a show instead of giving the same in charity. ‘The same money could have been benefited the old and infirm in better manner if had it been donated to the Old and Infirm Home, said Aakash Gupta. He added the political parties these days are busy in organizing mega rallies to show their strength and to woo the masses in general. According to reports recent rally of Mayawati BSP supreme was a big show on November 18, and an event for which state unit spent a large amount to make it a success. A random visit from Airport Satwari to the venue of the Rally – the Parade Ground will surely make you to feel the gravity of the words what Jammuites wanted to say. Undoubtedly the BSP has scored an edge over the other including the Congress, PDP, BJP, National Conference other parties which recently organized such shows to show their public support. Sources said a single welcome gate prepared to welcome BSP supremo had cost around about ten thousands of rupees including laborer who was hired from out of the state. When contacted, one of the senior BSP leader, playing a pivotal role in organizing the rally, pleaded ignorance on the number of welcome gates erected by the party leaders on the rally day but Party sources disclosed the BSP had spent over Rs 30 lakhs for publicity materials.
