| Minister stresses for quality education | | | Early Times Reporter Leh | Dec 1 Power Minister Nawang Rigzin while addressing the annual day function of govt. boys higher secondary school today stressed upon the teachers to provide quality education for all in Ladakh. He said that since inception of hill development council, the education sector has been given top priority. It was the efforts of Hill Council, education department and the parents, the pass percentage of matriculation examination has considerably raised from 5% to 50% he added. He also stressed the need for achieving atleast 75% results in next three years so that the education system is streamlined in real sense. He also presented national level best teaching award to the vice principal Sonam Dorje and state best teacher awards to Tsering Yangdol (Chemistry lecturer) for their outstanding services. He also gave away prizes, certificates and trophies to the students who registered excel in different Co-curriculum activities. Earlier, the principal of the institution gave a brief summary of the activities of the school. A cultural programme was also presented by the students to mark the parent day foundation. Among other who participated in function were Chief Education Officer, Leh, district officers of education deptt. Parents and all student of the school. |
