| Gupta ridicules humiliation to ex-servicemen | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 1 Charging Congress, National Conference and their likes of humiliating the men of forces because of their communal mindset, the former Union Minister and senior BJP leader, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta has praised the troops of successfully fighting out the repeated Pakistani attacks as also the proxy war of cross border terror for the past 19 years in a complex situation and serving the people of this state in a big way in any emergency. While responding to the complaints of a group of ex-servicemen, who called on him and listed the humiliating behavior of the State ruling leaders, Prof Gupta said that it was astonishing that just Rs.166 were being paid as allowance to the Param Vir Chakkar Awardees and Rs.133 to the winners of Ashok Chakkars in Jammu and Kashmir whereas in the adjoining Punjab and Himachal Pradesh such awardees were being paid RS.12500 to over Rs.8000 in addition to many other facilities. The BJP leader said that it was ridiculous that a terrorists committing heinous crimes in case surrendering are being paid Rs. 2000 per month in addition to other facilities, whereas the awardees of the gallantry are being paid less than Rs. two a day adding that it was highly deplorable that a Post-graduate and graduate is paid only Rs.1500 for contractual jobs like that of ReTs, whereas the salaries of the Ministers and others have been raised all time high to over Rs.43000 per month. Assuring the ex-servicemen, Prof Gupta said that the BJP would make an issue against this sort of behaviour of the ruling leaders and expose their designs against the nationalists. |
