| Firing between criminal, police at Manda | | Sunny along with three criminals manage to flee | | Early Times Reporter

A firing took place at Manda area here today between Police party and a criminal in which the criminal managed to give a slip from the spot.
According to reports, Bus Stand police today, on a specific information that the wanted criminal Sunny along with his two other accomplices were present in the area, a police party led by SHO Bus Stand Bishnesh Kumar, under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Police City Swantantra Arora, swung into action and cordoned off the area. Sources said the criminals, who were traveling in a Maruti car, managed to flee from the area when police started checking the vehicles but police chased them up to Manda where the criminals opened fire on the police party. Sources said police party also retaliated the fire and after firing some rounds, the criminals managed to escape from the spot leaving behind their vehicle which was later seized by the police
Sources said police have informed all its police stations and alerted all the nakas for the arrest of these criminals. Reports said Sunny was wanted in about ten cases in different police stations of the city and was absconding since last some years. He was also involved in many attempt to murder and murder cases and active with a criminal gang for last many years, the sources claimed.
Reports further said he was also wanted in a firing case in the Sainik Colony area when some gangsters along with a police personnel entered into the house of a contractor for extortion. He was also wanted in a murder case in the Arnia police station where he murdered a youth with sharp edged weapon. He was also wanted in a case under section 307 Cr. PC along with some other criminals in Gandhi Nagar, Satwari, Bari Brahamna and some other police stations. Sources said he was not an old gangster but started the criminals activities only some years back and after committing a murder in Arnia area, he joined hands with a gang operating in the city and after committing the last crime, he had gone under ground and today after some months he was seen by the police in the Bus Stand area.
The Police have also registered a case against him about today’s incident and started investigating the case.
A police officer said that the identification of other criminals, accompanying with Sunny, are being ascertained.. |
