| Congress leaders appeal electorate to vote for party nominee | | Poonch by-election | | Early Times Reporter Poonch | Dec 3 Several senior Congress leaders have appealed the electorate to vote for Congress candidate in the Bye election for Poonch constituency which goes to polls on December 12. Addressing series of election rallies organized to garner support for their party nominee Jahangir Mir, several senior Congress leaders including Ch. Mohammed Aslam, MP, vice president PCC G M Mir, Ravinder Sharma spokesperson PCC, Shabir Khan Vice Chairman Pahari President DCC Poonch, Mohammed Younis Secretary PCC, Ch. Mohammed and Imran Zaffar General Secretary PYC highlighting the achievements of the ruling alliance urged the electorate to vote for the Congress party for peace and development in the state. These leaders claimed that due to the efforts of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad it has become possible that there is no problem of funds and development in all fronts is going on speedily. Besides, many historical decision were taken for the welfare of poor and down trodden people of the state, these leaders added. Referring to the amendment in SRO 294 with regard to the enhancement of reservation quota in promotion to SCs’s and STs, the Congress leaders said the government is taking special care for the people of Poonch and Rajouri districts which remained neglected during the long National Conference rule in the state. Urging the voters to reject those parties and individuals who come out only at the time of election and go in hibernation after elections, they said it is golden opportunity for the people of Poonch to thank Prime Minister and Congress President Sonia Gandhi through their votes which will go a long way for the betterment of Poonch district. |
