Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 3 Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) organized a condolence meeting on sudden demise of renowned Punjabi Poet from Kashmir Mr. Jarnail Singh Gulab who passed away, last evening at Srinagar. In the meeting chaired by Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Dr. Rafeeq Masoodi, speakers paid rich tributes to the deceased. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Masoodi highlighted the contribution of Late Jarnail Singh Gulab who since last five decades had contributed in the field of Punjabi Poetry like Pattian Gulab Dian, Mehak Di Prabhat, Kambdey Akhkhar, collections of Punjabi Poetry and Kukh Di Sapni. Late Gulab was honoured by Punjabi Sahit Sabha Srinagar for his contribution in the field of Punjabi Poetry. Among others who paid tributes to the deceased included Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Editor Punjabi, Syed Iqbal Shah Malangami, Editor-cum- Cultural Officer, Pahari Dr. Javid Rahi, Editor-cum-Cultural Officer, Gojri Mr. M. Ashraf Tak, Editor, Urdu/Persian Mr. Manshah Khakhi, Assistant Editor, Gojri Dr. Gian Singh, Chief Editor (Dictionary) Mrs. Neeru Sharma, Editor Hindi Mr. Brij Mohan, Editor Dogri and S. Ecchpal, Research Assistant, Punjabi. Two minute silence was also observed as a token of respect to the departed soul. |
