Gita Karwal, President, Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) of White Knight Corps accompanied by Mrs Sunita Malik, President, AWWA of Crossed Swords Division visited BYRAM Nursery School at Jaurian. During the visit Mrs Gita Karwal interacted with the children and school teachers.
She also visited the ‘Socks Project’ at Pallanwala, an AWWA project for Rural Employment Generation scheme, registered as a co-operative named ‘Nari Vikas Co-operative Limited’. Seven women (wives/daughters of deceased soldiers) are employed here. This project helps these women to live a life of dignity through earnings from making these socks which are sold to jawans and children through AWWA outlets. |
