| Veeri chairs Petitions Committee meeting | | | Early Times Reporter

The Petitions Committee of Legislative Assembly met here today under the chairmanship of MLA M. A.R.Veeri and examined a petition filed by one Mr. Shuban Krishan Kachroo resident of Khandiphari Anantnag at present Pamposh Colony, Janipur Jammu regarding compensation of land allegedly acquired by Flood Control Department at Anantnag.
Legislators Mr. Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Sofi, Mr. Ashwani Sharma, Mr. Nazir Ahmed Gurezi, Molvi Abdul Rashid, Commissioner/Secretary, PHE/Irrigation and Flood Control Mr. A.K.Angurana, Chief Engineer Irrigation & Flood Control Mr. V.K.Abrol and officers of Assembly Secretariat were present in the meeting.
The Committee discussed the matter with the officers and asked to provide precise details in the next meeting. The Committee directed the Assembly Secretariat to call the senior officers of revenue department along with relevant record pertaining to the instant case in the next meeting.
MLA Mr. Ashwani Kumar raised the issue of pending liabilities of various contractors who have executed the de-silting work in canal and various distributaries. Mr. Veeri also expressed the similar views and said that some contractors of Anantnag have approached him for clearing their liabilities on account of works done in Irrigation & Flood Control Department. |
