| Singh Club wins by 7 wkts in Champions Trophy | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 4: Singh Cricket Club (SCC) today registered a convincing seven wickets victory over SIP XI to advance into the next round of ongoing 5th JK Champions Trophy cricket tournament organized by the Talab Tillo Cricket Club at GGM Science College ground here. Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, SIP XI lost all their wickets for 130 runs in 20.1 overs, which, in reply, SCC chased in 17 overs for the loss of three wickets. The 25 overs game was reduced to 22 overs due to its delayed start. Sami was top scorer from SIP XI with 30 runs while extras contributed maximum 40 runs to the team’s total of 130. From SCC, Varun and Sahil took three wickets each while Ashok and Munish shared a piece each. Batting second, SCC reached the required total in mere 17 overs with seven wickets in hand. Varun was top scorer with 35 (5x4) runs while Ashok contributed 30 (6x4). Atul and Kanav added 17 and 10 runs respectively. Shahid bagged two wickets from SIP XI and Sami took one. For his all-round performance, Varun was adjudged man of the match. Today’s match was officiated by Santa Singh, Pappu and Rajiv. Bunty. |
