| Khuda for involvement of more people in the Organization | | Chief Wardens’ Conference concludes | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 4 To discuss the achievements and the future targets, a day long Chief Warden’s conference was held here today with Director General Police, Kuldeep Khuda in chair. Speaking on the occasion, Khuda said that the Civil Defence Organization is the first responder during and after any eventuality whether natural of man made and stressed the need for involvement of more and more people in the organization. ‘People irrespective of their type of role should be involved in relief and rescue operations at the time of any disaster’, he added. DGP said that the civil defence in the state should always remain in forefront to meet any eventuality and the time lag between disaster and any reinforcement is the time when the patience of the public is tested. He appreciated the good work being done by the civil defence but maintained that there are still certain areas where improvement can be made. Inspector General of Police Home and Civil Defence, Naveen Agarwal, in his address at the conference said that from last three years the Chief Wardens’ Conference is being held regularly where all members of warden service interact and discuss the achievements and put before their requirements. He also highlighted the role of Civil Defence organization especially during Amarnath Yatra. Kheerbhawani mela. Jhiri mela and added that the work of civil defence volunteers during the Khundroo blasts has been highly appreciated by the administration as also the common people. Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Sudhanshu Panday assured the conference that he will provide all sort of cooperation to the civil defence organization required during any eventuality through the local administration. The conference, was among others, attended by Kamal Saini DIG, Ghulam Sarwar Chouhan SSP, Parbhat Singh Commandant Aux. Police, S M Khatotra, Divisional Commandant , Manjit Kour Dy Controller CD Jammu chief wardens and other senior wardens. Chief Wardens and other civil defence wardens present on the occasion put forth several suggestions for further improving the working of the organization. |
