| DCC criticizes LUTF of its failures | | Thuspstan demands withdrawal of false cases, transfer of SSP, SHO | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 4 Strongly resenting the state interference in the religious affairs of Ladakhi Buddhists, denial of their constitutional rights and high handedness of Police, Ladakh Union Territory Front (LUTF) has demanded immediate withdrawal of false and fabricated cases against the activists of LBA and LUTF besides transfer of SSP and SHO Leh, responsible for unleashing a reign of terror in the district. In a handout Thupstan Chhewang MP and President LUTF said that Leh has been ‘simmering with discontent’ for about past one year due to the discriminative policies of Congress led coalition government in the state and more so the local unit of Congress party with the active support of the local administration is restoring to such methods which are undemocratic, divisive and autocratic. He alleged that the Congress party used the police force to arrest and implicate the political workers of the Front in false and fabricated cases and even the elected councilors were not spared when they were arrested and beaten up brutally in police custody . He further said the district administration on the instructions of the state government resorted to sealing the office of Ladakh Budhhist Association. In the meantime, the district congress committee in an extra ordinary meeting of the central working committee which was among others attended by senior party leader and the Minister Rigzen Jora strongly condemned the illegal and immoral direct interference of LUTF and its leaders into the non political and religious organizations of LBA by fraudulently thrusting Dr Dawa as its present and also misuse of LBA as LUTF’ s branch to carry out its political activities to counter and discredit Congress leaders. The meeting criticized the LUTF of its failure in fulfilling the promises made during the last LAHDC elections and to cover its failures they are misleading the public and trying to muzzle the sensible and democratic forces of Ladakh, the meeting alleged. The meeting appealed the people in general to beware of directionless, divisible, shortsightedness, undemocratic and misleading political gimmicks of LUTF leadership, a party handout said. |
