| Sunny’s associate arrested from Gadigarh | | ‘Babban makes several disclosures’ | | Early Times Reporter

City South police today arrested the wanted criminal and a close associate of Sunny Choudhary from the Upper Gadigarh area where he was hiding in a rented house. After firing shots at police at Manda three days back, the alleged accused had given dogged the police and fled away from the spot.
During interrogation to police he is reported to have made several disclosures and the plans of the gang.
SP South Zahid Manhas said today police received specific information of presence of criminal namely Gagan Deep alias Babban son of Amarjeet Singh resident of Nanak Nagar in Ajeet Nagar Upper Gadigarh area. On receipt of the information ,a police party led by SDPO Sukdev Raj Bhasin rushed to the spot where police managed to arrest the criminal and took him to police station for further interrogation.
Reports said the arrested criminal was an associate of Sunny Choudhary and also involved in the attack on a Major in Gadigarh area about two months back. He along with Sunny was absconding from the police in the case FIR No 166/2007 under section 307/34 RPC 4/25 Arms Act in Satwari police station in which Sunny along with two other criminals had attacked a Major. The arrested criminal was also wanted in a case FIR No 16/2007 under section 307/ 34 RPC 4/27 Arms Act in police station Railway Station. Sources said the arrested criminal was a close associate of Sunny and during interrogation he told police that the Sunny also lived in the said rental accommodation. He is also reported to have told the Police that Sunny along with some other criminals had planned to murder Bittu Kabbadia and from last some days they were collecting the weapons from other criminals for accomplishing this task. He is also reported to have confessed that he and Sunny were collecting some ammunition from Bus Stand area when the police spotted and chased them and took shelter at Manda where after opening some rounds on the police party they managed to flee from the spot. Sources said he told police party that they parked their vehicle in the Muthi area and Sunny fled to a safe hideout and asked him to return Jammu to watch the developments. He is also reported to have told police that Sunny had asked him to contact all other criminals who were tasked for the Bittu’s murder and has been in close touch with Babban all these days and asked him not to visit Jammu as police is looking for him. Police has also seized the mobile phone of the arrested criminal and made several attempts to contact Sunny by using this cell phone but remained illusive. Sources said he also told the police about the presence of the Sunny in a guest house. Maintaining silence about the present hide out of Sunny, the police is reported to have secretly rushed a team to the identified place and his arrest is likely shortly.
The arrested criminal has also told the police about the presence of several gangsters and their whereabouts, besides the names of those criminals who have been arranging weapons for them. Sources said police is maintaining silence about the interrogation of Babban and many arrests are likely after his late night interrogation and some recoveries are also likely, the sources added. |
