| Fencing Competition conclude at Ramban | | | Early Times Reporter Ramban | Dec 5 2-day Fencing competition duly organized by the Jammu & Kashmir state Fencing Association in collaboration with District Fencing Association Ramban concluded at Ramban today. The District Development Commissioner, Ramban, A.D. Shehnas was chief guest while Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, A.K. Sahu presided over and Superintendent of Police, Basant Kumar Rath and Conservator of Forest were as guest of honours. The Fencing competition was organized under the guidance of Additional Deputy Commissioner. Commandant, Boarder Security Force, Wajid Ali, Camp Commander, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Ranjeet Singh Tara, Assistant Commissioner Development, Tehsildar and other district level officers were also present on the occasion. During last and final competitions played under Sabre Team boys group, Degree College, Ramban secured first position, while City Middle School, Ramban and HSS boys Ramban bagged second and third positions respectively. Similarly in the girls category, Government Degree College, Ramban secured first, Bharitya Vidya Mandir second and Girls High School (team-B) as third. Under girls EPEE Bhartiya Vidya Mandir high school declared as first while HSS girls and girls high school team B as second and third respectively. Under boys EP team, HSS boys, Ramban was declared as first, Degree College Ramban team C as second and Middle School Sari as third. The DDC speaking at the concluding function appreciated the efforts of students who took part in the Fencing competition. He said that this fencing game is being played presently in more than two hundred countries of the world. The students who participated in this competition and played well would be sent for state and national level fencing competitions in the near future. The Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Ramban also spoke on the occasion and appreciated the students for their participation. He assured that such more competitions would be organized in the near future. Divisional Forest Officer, Ramban, Javid Mir presented vote of thanks and stressed upon the student community to come forward and actively participate in such programme and competitions for development of their personality. |
