| Gujjar-Bakerwal, Pahari Forum extends support to Aijaz Jan | | | Early Times Reporter

In an important development, Gujjar Bakerwal and Pahari Welfare Forums today extended their support to National Conference candidate for Poonch-Haveli assembly constituency Aijaz Ahmed Jan.
Members of Gujjar-Bakerwal Forum, comprised of Choudhary Nazir, block president Mandi, Muhammad Sadiq, block president and Nazir Shayer Working committee member along with other fourteen members called on party president Omar Abdullah, here today, and assured that the Forum will support the party president in the bye-elections.
The delegates expressed their confidence on the stewardship of Omar Abdullah and said that they will not leave any stone unturned to ensure victory of NC candidate.
Pahari Welfare Forum, a non-political organization also called on the party president and extended their support National Conference.
The delegates said that the rumours created by some vested interests over the non-support of the community to the party have no basis as people of these communities have strong belief in National Conference.
"The party has always stood strong for the genuine cause of Gujjar, Bakarwals and Pahari communities and question of supporting any other party does not arise", the delegates said. |
