| On Azad’s instructions, offices inspected | | Inspection reports by six high level teams being submitted to CM, CS | |
Srinagar, August 22 – On the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad, the senior level administrative authorities including Financial Commissioners, Principal Secretaries to the Government, Secretaries to government and Special Secretaries made surprise checks of government offices all over the valley today.
It is the first surprise check of its kind which has been made simultaneously in various field offices by the officers of the level of Financial Commissioners, Principal Secretaries and other high ranking officers.
At Kupwara, the surprise check was made by Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr Anil Goswami accompanied by Special Secretary to Chief Secretary Mr Pradeep Gupta. They made surprise inspection to Deputy Commissioner Office Kupwara, DRDA Offices, various hospitals and other health centres. The same team made surprise check at Handwara Superintendent Engineer Hydraulic office, R&B Office and Executive Engineer Office Kupwara. The team seized attendance registers in various offices and those who were found absent from duty their names have been noted. The team also interacted with the general public in various hospitals and health centres to enquire about the working of these units. The team also checked records at various places and also observed the progress made during current year in various execution works. The team finalized its report which is being submitted to Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary for appropriate action.
Similarly, another team headed by Financial Commissioner Home, Mr B.R. Kundal accompanied by CAPD Secretary, Mr Khalid Habib made surprise check to various field offices in Srinagar. The team checked Deputy Commissioner Office Srinagar, Engineering complex at Rajbagh, Horticulture Offices, Superintending Engineer R&B Office, Agriculture complex, Social Welfare Office and other important offices. The team observed at various places that works have been done without administrative approval. The team made certain observations in Superintending Engineer R&B Office. The team also noted the name of the officers and officials found absent and coming late in the office. The team would finalize its report to be submitted to the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary.
The third, fourth, fifth and sixth teams visited district Anantnag, Baramulla, Budgam and Pulwama.
The team which visited Anantnag comprised of Principal Secretary Agriculture, Mr S.S. Sahni alongwith, Special Secretary Home Mr Gazanfar Hussain. While as the team which made surprise check of government offices of Baramulla was headed by Principal Secretary Labour and Employment, Mr B.L. Nimesh. He was accompanied by Special Secretary PDD, Mr B.D. Sharma.
Similarly, the team who visited various field offices of Budgam was headed by Principal Secretary ARI and Training, Mrs Sonali Kumar accompanied by Secretary Education, Mr Khazar Mohammad Wani.
Accordingly the team which made surprise visit of Pulwama government offices was headed by Principal Secretary Power Development Department who was accompanied by Secretary Agriculture, Mr. K.B. Jandial.
The inspection being conducted by third, fourth, fifth and sixth teams is in progress and the reports with regard to working of field offices in the area of their inspection shall be submitted tonight to Chief Minister and Chief Secretary. |
