| KRANTI DAL protests commercialization of medicare services | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 5 Raising the issue of rampant commercialization of medical facilities and displaying of butchered animals by the meat shops Kranti Dal today held a protest rally. Labha Ram Gandhi led the rally organised at Vikran Chowk jammu. Addressing the media persons the President of the state Kranti Dal unit Anan sharma said doctors in the state are amassing money by looting hapless patients under the watchful eyes of government machinery. Leveling series of allegations and exposing ill deeds of greedy doctors Sharma said,” it is widely seen doctors compel the patients to visit their private clinics rather treating them in the govt hospitals. He said there is no check on the consultation fee .They are charging as high as Rs 200 as the consultation fee per sitting. These doctors also refer these patients to the private clinical laboratories of their own choice for various necessary tests and get an fixed amount of commission ranging from 30%to40% from the laboratories. He said that the poor people could not afford this much amount due to which poor people remain untreated and the govt has become a mere spectator taking no steps regarding the same. He said that besides this most of the chemist shops in city are being illegally operating and the departments responsible to check this illegal operation are rather filling their pockets to keep themselves shut. Sharma also mentioned dissatisfaction over the butchered display of animals in the various meat shops in the city which hurts the sentiments of the Hindu community.He warned the chairman Jammu Municipal Corporatioon (JMC) to cancel the licenses of those meat vendors immediately otherwise their party will start agitation against them. Kranti Dal also constituted its youth wing today with its office bearers Vikram singh as president,Pankaj Gupta work president,Vishal Vaid as vice-president,Rajinder singh as Gen.secretary and Sohan singh as District president. Retd. capt. S.P Verma,J.L.Verma ,Vipan Hindu,Pritam Sharma etc were the prominent amongst those who addressed the rally. |
