| Use degree for the betterment of society: Charak asks law students | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 5 Minister for Roads and Buildings Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak has stressed upon the law students to use professionalism and knowledge of law for the betterment of the society. He said that law luminaries could play a pivotal role in creating a responsible law abiding and reasonable modern society. Charak was addressing at a function of Dogra Law College, organised to farewell the pass out students this afternoon. Hailing that college has for being first law institution in the state, to pass out its first batch, Mr. Charak assured the students and parents that the management would work more enthusthtically to provide better educational environment vis-à-vis infrastructure, teaching faculty for nourishing growing talent, to make it India’s one of the best law college. He said that reputed law luminaries have given their consent for delivering guest lecturers in the college in near future which include Chief justice of India Justice Mr. K. G. Balakrishanan. Recalling the viable suggestions given by the great law luminaries of the state, by Late Mr. Devi Dass Thakur and Justice R.P. Sethi for starting the five years law degree course in the state, Mr. Charak said that these are personalities encouraged me to take this challenge successfully. Asking the pass out the students to make their contribution for the betterment of college, Mr. Charak asked them to gave their valuable suggestions for the betterment of teaching facility and infrastructure so that the management of the college would cope up these things at the earliest. He also appealed the people to come forward with their valuable suggestions for the betterment of the college and students community. Director-cum-Principal Prof. G. Varandhani gave the welcome address and highlighted the achievements of the college in different fields during the current session. Later, the Minister distributed the mementos among the pas out students. Earlier, the Junior Law students present the various cultural programmes in the function. |
