| Lift ban on export of Basmati says BKS | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 5 The J&K Bhartiya Kissan Sangh (BKS) have urged upon the state government to lift ban on export of Basmati rice. Addressing a press conference here today, Satish Bharti president BKS said, ‘One fails to under stand why government does not allow export of Basmati rice to other parts of the country, while on the other hand Kashmiri apple is being exported freely. He said why government adopts divide and role policy with the Jammu region. Bharti further said farmers are facing acute shortage of fertilizers and Power supply. During the season of sowing Bharti alleged that the concerned departments are paying no heed towards the demands of the poor farmers. Bharti appeal to the Chief Minister Gh. Nabi Azad to lift ban on Basmati as the poor farmers are suffering badly due to this ban order. Among others who were present on the occasion were, Natha Ram, Swaran Singh, Kamal Chowdhary, Prashant Singh, Sewa Ram, Yog Raj and Yogesh Sharma. |
