Over Rs. 1.58 lakhs realized as fine under MV act

As a drive to check violations of MV Act 1988 in the District Regional Transport officer (RTO), (Nasir Iqbal Parae) along with staff conducted surprise checking of vehicles plying on the National Highway and interior routes of intervening night of December 4 and 5. During checking, about 300 vehicles were checked and violators were compounded to the tune of Rs. 1,58,000-00 on spot. RTO warned the operators to ply their vehicles with valid documents and not indulge in overloading, rash driving and other offences, otherwise stern action under the provision of MV Act shall be initiated against the violators.
He directed all drivers and conductors of public service vehicles to wear uniform as prescribed under rules and board off the passengers at their destinations as there have been frequent complaints by the public.
