| Job seekers in J&K touches 75000 mark by Dec 2005 | | | New Delhi | Dec 5 NUMBER of educated job-seekers, in Jammu and Kashmir, all of whom may not necessarily be unemployed, registered with employment exchanges as on December, 31 2005 have crossed 75,000 mark. This information was given in the Rajya Sabha by Minister of State for Labour and Employment Oscar Fernandes in a written reply. He said the number of educated youth from 10th standard and above registered with the employment exchanges has gone up to 75,000 by the end of December 31, 2005. He further informed the Rajya Sabha that Government of India has been implementing various schemes for employment generation such as Swarnjayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana, Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojana, Prime Minister’s Rojgar Yojana, Rural Employment Generation Programme (REGP), Swarna Jayanti Shahari Rozgar Yojana and National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005. Approach Paper to Eleventh Five Year Plan envisages creation of 70 million jobs during the 11th Plan, he added. |
