Early Times Reporter
Jammu | Dec 6: Rohit Dogra Cricket Club (RDCC) today registered a big 77 runs victory over Blue Star Cricket Club (BSCC) to make it into the next round of the ongoing 5th JK Champions Trophy cricket tournament at GGM Science College grounds, here.
Pankan Sasan was the man behind RDCC’s big win. He contributed 73 runs guiding the side to set a big target of 161 runs for the loss of five wickets in the stipulated 25 overs. Ved and Anil too made valuable contributions of 25 runs each. From BSCC, Vishal, Nasir and Diwankar shared one wicket each.
In reply, BSCC failed to deliver goods after RDCC bowlers reduced the side to 34 for nine. However, the last wicket partnership of 49 runs brought some interest in the game and also reduced the margin. The BSCC made 83 runs losing all wickets in 21 overs. Ravi remained the top scorer with 22 while Diwankar added 11 runs to the team’s total.
Anil was most successful bowler from RDCC, who took four wickets for 14 runs while Dimple and Vijay shared two each.
Next match: Press Club XI shall take on VIT Cricket Club at 10.30 am tomorrow.
