Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 6: Airtel has been recognized as the Best Brand and the Best Mobile Operator at the ‘World Communications Awards, 2007’. The World Communication Awards constituted by Total Telecom is an unequivocal acknowledgement of companies and individuals responsible for innovations, achievements and great new services in the global communication industry. The awards were announced on 28 November 2007, at an event in London that was attended by some of the world's leading brands in the communications industry. Commenting on the Best Brand award, Gopal Vittal, Director Marketing & Communications, Airtel, said, “To e seen as one of the biggest, most iconic brands of India and serving over 53 million consumers is a matter of privilige to all of us at Airtel. The latest recognition of best brand from amongst the world’s leading brands is a matter of great honour." It is to mention that Airtel was chosen as the 'Best Brand' over some leading international brands such as iiNet Limited, Orange, StarHub Ltd, TEO LT, AB and The Egyptian Company for Mobile Services (Mobinil). Commenting on Airtel's recognition as the Best Mobile Operator, Sanjay Kapoor, President, Mobile Services, Airtel, said, "This award bears testimony to Airtel’s single-minded focus on customer delight, product & service innovation, and world class connectivity.
