| Shivani’s kathak performance mesmerizes audience | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 6: It cannot be said that the physically challenged children are failures in their life or they cannot work or perform like the physically fit children .A visually impaired student Shivani Misri,class four student of Love Birds School after performing Kathak dance at the "Nav-Anubhuti",a musical programme organised by Kalpana kala kendra at k.L Saigal hall in association with J&k academy of art,culture and language has proved that "if there is will nothing is impossible". The small child has given a ray of hope for the other physically handicapped students who think that being handicapped they could not work or perform like the physically fit people and always treat themselves inferior. Besides performing a kathak dance she also sang the popular kashmiri song"sahibo sath cham me chaney".Another visually impaired and physically challenged student Kalpana Shalla presented a hindi bhajan"De piya darshan mohey". The whole crowd present in the hall felt tears in their eyes after seeing the little handicapped children performing confidently. Students were also presented with trophis and certificates on the occasion by the chief Guest Dr Shiekh Mustafa Kamal. The function was to be inaugurated by Dr.Farooq Abdulah but due to delay in flight he could not reach on time .The principal Presentation Convent school Sister Phyllis was the guest of honour while B.L Bhat( Ex MLC) presided over the function.Speaking on the occasion Sister Phyllis appreciated the efforts of the Kendra organising such programmes. |
