| People fed up Of Opportunist Politics: Masood | | Emphasis need for people to know the democratic rights | | Early Times Reporter

Senior Congress Leader Advocate Masood Chowdhary from Darhal-Budhal Constituency has undertaken an extensive tour of Kurhad, Sokar, Toondh Gakhrot, Hillan and Panjnara area of Panihad and Peeri Nullah of Darhal-Budhal constituency.
During the tour Chowdhary addressed the largely attended public meetings at various places. He was accompanied by officers and officials of Social Welfare, Animal Husbandry, PHE, Health and PDD departments.
While addressing the gatherings Masood impelled upon the people to come out of the age old hesitation and ignorance and become partners in development schemes launched by the government under state and central assistance programs. He emphasized the need for the people to know their basic and democratic rights.
He stressed upon the delegates and workers to create awareness among common man of a large number of public-oriented schemes and policies launched by Ghulam Nabi Azad government. He asserted that state has never before witnessed such a massive development and reconstruction activity as is seen in the last one and a half year of Ghulam Nabi Azad government. It is due to the deepest feeling of attachment and personal interest of Chief Minister Azad that a large scale development activity in the state is envisaged and accomplished by him in the shortest time asserted Mr. Chowdhary.
He said Darhal-Budhal constituency has suffered in the last fifty years due to the opportunistic politics which never let anything trickle down on the ground and thus continuously pushed people to ignorance and backwardness. He said people at the helm of affairs in this constituency sucked and looted NC regimes at the cost of innocent and toothless masses of this constituency for personal gains, sold the transfers and postings of naib tehsildars and patwaries and with the change of guard immediately joined PDP camp to save their ill-gotten properties from confiscation.
Masood assured the people that he will never tolerate the bargaining of development works and tribal sub-plans, sale of work orders, illegal detentions of innocent people for political gains, and harassment to the hard working employees for not supporting the decade old opportunist politics in the constituency. Cautioning people against the legacy of opportunist politics in the constituency Masood said that those busy in multiplying lakhs into millions and millions into crores can never take care of the innocent and downtrodden public of this constituency as is proved in the last fifty-sixty years. And this is the reason that they leave one party and jump into the other which comes to the power, said Masood Chowdhary.
Mr. Chowdhary made a clarion call to the people of the constituency to come out with him and support his ideology in the coming assembly elections. He asserted that the only way to get rid of poverty, ignorance, illiteracy and backwardness is to teach lesson to those beating the drum of opportunist politics to multiply their wealth and business.
He thanked the people of Panjnara for accepting his people based ideology and policies despite emotional blackmailing and threatening calls from certain quarters for not joining him.
During his visit at kurhad Mr. Chowdhary got on the spot restoration of certain power supply lines. He also appreciated the Social Welfare Department for launching public awareness camp at Gakhrot for the welfare of people.
