Jammu | Dec 6 : Ignoring the claim of thousands of Physical Education Trained candidates waiting for Job since the government in 2005 declared to make Physical Education compulsory in at all levels, Government today gave consent to creation of 199 Zonal Physical Education Officers on promotion basis, including recruitment of same number of Junior assistants in Youth Service and sports department (KMT)
The consent for creation of posts has come as a follow up to a 2005 cabinet decision taken with the view to make Physical Education compulsory at all levels in Governmnet schools.
As for an official spokes person the minister of state for Youth Services and Sports Babu Singh has said that the creation has been made under the new plan.
Though the minister claimed that the step has been taken with the aim of strengthening the department, there was no mention about the creation of Physical Education Teachers for introducing Physical Education at levels in the government run schools. Instead the new plan has consented for creation of 199 junior assistants and 14 head assistants taking the total number of creations to 412. |
