A day after the arrest of one Sub Inspector and constable among four persons who were detained by the joint team of district special Branch and police from Peer Kho has set the tongue wagering that Doda based narcotics smugglers are having nexus with some police personal within the allegations that police is trying to hush up the matter.
Well placed sources said that the detained by the joint team told to the joint team that SI Muhammad Aslam, Constable Roshan and two civilians namely Suhail Wani and Ali Muhammad Shah during interrogation disclose about a Doda based smuggling racket gave them a consignment of two packets (One kg each) and asked them to deliver the consignment in the Jammu city.
Further sources added that it was also found during the interrogation that the arrested were active and also delivered some consignments in the City and also have couriered the consignments to the outside the state. Adding more they said that a special team deputed for the task to ascertain the identity of narcotics smugglers active in the Doda has left to accomplish its job. The way the concerned teams are acting promptly and swiftly sources going beyond have apprehended that the influential involved and the other involved may try to hush up the matter within the pace of the case. Sources maintained that the ‘seizure of heroin’ yet has not been sent to the FSL until the last report poured in though the investigating team is said to be acting hastily.
Sources said during interrogation said the narcotics smugglers racket had hired the police personal for their being of more utility due to their uniform as none would suspect them to be a courier of narcotics. ‘Ongoing interrogation also pin pointed that some more police personals of Doda , Poonch and Rajouri districts were also involved in the narcotics smuggling and an international racket is also active in the Jammu and Kashmir state, sources said and also added that in revelation mentioned the names of persons from the border belt involved in the narcotics smuggling.
The detainees told the police that they reached Jammu few days ago in a private taxi and were staying in the Peer Kho area along with their consignment, sources said and added that they gave information about some more hideouts in close vicinity of the city, and in a late night operation the police raided some spots but no arrest has been made so far. Sources however said more names of some police personals may come out who are working as narcotic couriers as it gives a good return in lakh of rupees.
The involvement of the police personnel in narcotic smuggling is not new to people as in recent past some names from Khakhi had been in media for their alleged links with terrorists, sources said. Sources said a senior police officer after the matter directed the investigating team to let loose the noose around the involved police personal but to carry on the investigations accordingly. |
