| New Year bonanza for sports professionals | | | Early Times Reporter
Jammu | Dec 6: As a New Year bonanza for the sports professionals, the government has today announced approval of more than 400 posts for different positions in sports, youth services and physical education.
Minister for Sports, Babu Singh told media here today that the government has approved creation of 412 posts in Youth Services and Sports department under plan including 199 posts each of Zonal Physical Education Officers and Junior Assistants , besides 14 posts of Head Assistants.
Giving details, Mr. Babu Singh said the decision has come as follow up the historical decisions taken by the cabinet in 2005 to introduce physical education as compulsory subject in all schools of the state.
He said creation of new posts bears testimony to the commitment of the present government led by Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad to give priority to strengthening of the youth services and sports department.
Babu Singh expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad for showing keen interest in improve the functioning of the department and deciding to go ahead with the creation of new posts .
He said that seniority list of the officials of the department will be soon prepared as per merit to implement the order adding that new draft recruitment rules would also be framed to gear up the functioning of the department.
The Minister maintained that the creation of new posts will help in removing the stagnation within the department. |
