| Champions Trophy: Easy win for Press Club XI | | | Early Times Reporter
Jammu | Dec 7: Press Club XI today registered an easy six wickets victory over Combined XI to advance into the next round of 5th J&K Champions Trophy cricket tournament underway at GGM Science College here.
It was Parveen Singh’s unbeaten innings of 45 runs that helped Press Club XI to make it an easy sailing.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Combined XI bowled out for 93 runs in 19.2 overs of the 25 overs match. Shashi and Arun were main scorers with 20 and 23 runs respectively while extras contributed 20 runs to the total. From Press Club XI, Vijay clinched three wickets. Ashish, Amit and Irshad shared two wickets each.
In reply, Press Club XI chased the total in just 12.5 overs for the loss of four wickets. Parveen was top scorer with unbeaten 45 while Amit contributed 14. |
