| Leh, Kargil register speedy development: Jora | | | Early Times Reporter

The power minister Nawang Rigzin Jora while recounting the progress made by the coalition govt. supported by the congress party registered a spectacular development in the twin districts of Leh and Kargil. He said the main agenda of the present govt. headed by Ghulam Nabi Azad was to register a speedy development in all the regions of the state in every sphere of life.
Minister who was addressing rally at Pologround here today elaborated in the rally the progress registered during the present govt. where he remained as cabinet minister holding different portfolios. He said that it was the result of the endeavors which he and social welfare minister Haji Nissar played in getting powers for the Leh and Kargil Hill councils and allotted powers and perks for the chief executive councilor and the executive councilors. He said it was the present government that two tehsils were added as Leh has one tehsil since last 60 years. He further said that three blocks were added recently to streamline the development in un developed areas of Leh distt.
Referring power scenario in the district Jora said that diesel generators of the capacity of 4.5MVA has been added to diesel power house at Choglamsar to provide electricity to Leh town and its vicinity. Earlier this power house has the capacity to generate only 4MW power in winter for Leh city. |
