Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 7 ‘Alleging that the Congress-PDP coalition in the state has miserably failed to implement the most demanded recommendations of the Mandal Commission’, the Backward Class Federation of India,(BCFI) in an emergent meeting of the central executive committee, held under the chairmanship of Nek Ram Dofara, said that by keeping the ‘occupation’ clause in Reservation Rules, the government has once again deprived the real OBC’s from enjoying reservation benefits. Taking strong exception to this willful error, the BCFI has appealed to OBCs, SCs and STs to join hands and fight for their cause and accused the government of denying them the fundamental rights as enshrined under the Constitution of India. It also took strong note of the recognition of un-constitutional ‘reservations’ under ‘RBA’ and ‘ALC’ category. The meeting also protested strongly against the dilution of reservation from 27 per cent quota of OBCs vide Article 15(4) and 16(4) of the Constitution of India in favour of unconstitutional ‘RBA’ and ‘ALC’ adding that the area, line of control or language can never be a base for Reservation under these Articles. If the government want to provide such unconstitutional reservations it may do so without diluting the Reservation Quota of real OBCs provided to them under the Constitution., the meeting felt. The meeting, among others was, attended by K C Raina, K L Basotra, Bua Ditta, Madan Lal, H L Verma, Dharam Paul, Dr Ved, Bharat Bhushan, Tilak Raj, Manohar Lal, Ram Lal, Chargora, Bishan Dass, Parshotam Kumar, Bansi Lal, Sharam Singh, Ashwani Kumar, Pawan Manni and Ashok Kumar Basotra. |
