Steps on to boost literacy in sgr.

Srinagar, August 22 - Several steps are under way to give fillip to education and achieve the goal of cent percent literacy in Srinagar district. For this purpose, 500 learning centers have been started in Kangan block to impart education to about 13000 illiterate persons in the age group of 15 to 35 years. Another 392 such centers are functioning in Lar block of the district to impart education to 9000 persons in the same age group.
A three-day training programme for 443 volunteers of Ganderbal block was organised recently by the Zila Saksharata Samiti, Srinagar.
Meanwhile, survey for identification of target learners and volunteers in Srinagar block is in progressive stage.
