A deputation of office bearers of District Congress Committee (DCC) Jammu (Urban) led by Om Chopra, president DCC met chief electoral officer (CEO) B.R Sharma and apprised him about the large scale discrepancies and anomalies prevalent in voters lists.
Chopra apprise him the none availability for voters lists in many ward and moreover incorrect names, parentage and house hold numbers at the time of elections.
CEO listened to the points raised by the members of deputation and explained that process of rectification and improvement in the voters lists has been taken on war footing. To streamline the election process voters lists in alphabetical order and polling booth wise are being issued to facilitate identification of voters in a given locality/area. |
