| Vote Congress for peace, stability: Niaz | | | Early Times Reporter Poonch | Dec 7 Former Minister and sitting Member Legislative Council, Mohammad Sharief Niaz, while campaigning for the Congress candidate for Poonch Assembly segment, Jhangir Mir, addressed various public meeting at Sahabjian, Mandi, Beddar, Fatehpur, Nai-mohalla and Loran and appealed the electorates to vote for Congress candidate. Niaz said that CM Ghulam Nabi Azad has shown his keen interest for the development of border Districts of Poonch and Rajouri and people of the area are fully aware of the fact that it is the collation government that paved the way for construction of a Mughal road linking Poonch with Kashmir valley, besides opening University campus in the border district and established Tourism Development Authority for promotion of tourism in hitherto neglected areas. Niaz said Congress party does not believe in the politics of communal divide and it always stood like a rock against the communal forces. He appealed the electorate to give a befitting reply to those propagating communalism for their vested interests. He accused National Conference for denying the rights to the people of these border districts and alleged that little attention was paid towards the development of Poonch and Rajouri district during the NC rule. He appealed the voters to come out in large numbers and ensure success of the Congress candidate. ‘Vote for Congress candidate would be vote for peace and progress’, he remarked. |
