Police solves blind Murder case; 2 arrested

Police, today claimed to have solved a blind murder case and arrested two persons of Abhama allegedly involved in cold blooded murder of a youth in Mohalla Nad Abhama near Keller area of district Pulwama.
According to Police it had recovered a dead body lying in Mohalla Nad Abhama near Keller and during inquiry enquiry it surfaced that the dead body belonging to Mohammad Altaf Wagay, age 31 years, son of Ghulam Rasool Wagay, resident of Abhama and his family members had no clue about the cause of death.
Police said that the death of the youth as per some villagers was a mere suicide where others viewed it up as cold blooded murder, Some even went to extent that probably Altaf had gone to near by jungle side and might have been killed by some wild animal.
To ascertain the cause of the suspicious death inquest proceedings U/S 174 CrPC were initiated and the dead body was sent to medical officer for postmortem.
Police spokesman quoting Senior Police officer told News Agency of Kashmir that during the course of investigation it was learnt that the deceased Altaf had intimate relations with one Shahzada 22 daughter of Subhan Wagay resident of Abhama.
This love affair was allegedly going on for last 3-4 months and recently one Shabir Ahmad Wagay son of Gh. Ahmad Wagay of Abhama saw Altaf and Shahzada in comprising position at several occasions. Shabir was heart-broken as he himself loved this girl but the girl was not keen to make any terms with Shabir, He said.
On seeing his love story dying prematurely he hatched a conspiracy and told Shahzada's brother Mushtaq about Shahzada's relations with Altaf who got very annoyed and went to Altaf's house and asked Altaf for some help.
Altaf, who was unaware of the murderers plan, accompanied Mushtaq who took him to Mohalla Nad were Shabir was already waiting, the investigation revealed adding once the bait had himself come to trap, both Mushtaq and Shabir started mercilessly beating Altaf with a lathi due to which Altaf finally died.
Inquiry also revealed that the duo later drowned the body in the Nalla and returned back to home as the medical experts after conducting postmortem have also corroborated this by opining that the cause of Altaf's death was actually severe head injury.
Both the accused namely Mushtaq Ahmad Wagay son of Subhan Wagay and Shabir Ahmad Wagay son of Gh. Ahmad Wagay residents of Abhama have been arrested by the police and on their lead the weapon (lathi) with which they had beaten up the victim to death has also been recovered by the Police.
