| JKAACL organizes Young Theatre Workshop | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 7 Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) in collaboration with National School of Drama, New Delhi organized a month long ‘Young Theatre Workshop’ at Kala Kendra, which commenced here, this morning. Former Chief Secretary and renowned theatrist Vijay Bakaya inaugurated the workshop. Secretary Dr. Rafeeq Masoodi, Special Secretary T. R. Sharma, renowned theatrists Mushtaq Kak, Mohan Singh, Narsingh Jamwal, Kavi Rattan, former Additional Secretary Cultural Academy, Moti Lal Kemu, Prof. Lalit Magotra, Public Relations Officer Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn and Theatre lovers were present on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, Bakaya said that Young Theatre Workshop will help the young theatrists of the Jammu region by exposing them to contemporary modern theatre techniques. While appreciating the local talent, he said that theatre has evolved as very effective movement for generating social awareness during the last few decades. He appealed the young budding artists to come and join the theatre so that they can give expression to their talent and transform into budding artists of the country. In his welcome address, Dr. Masoodi said that different scholars and experts in the field of modern theatre have been invited to enlighten the young theatre artist about the latest techniques in contemporary theatre around the world. He said that this workshop is specially arranged for young theatrists as a part of Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages. On the occasion, Special Secretary T. R. Sharma presented vote of thanks and highlighted the daily programmes of the month long workshop. |
