| Arrested SPO found innocent | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | Dec 7 The Special Police Officer, (SPO), who picked from Chandak area of Poonch district with a grenade near the MP Omar Abdullah’s function during interrogation was found innocent and later released. According to sources, yesterday police arrested a SPO namely Mohd Yunis and recovered a grenade from his possession at an election rally which was being addressed to by the National Conference President Omar Abdullah. Sources said after his arrest, he was taken to police station for interrogation and during the interrogation it was found that he was attached with the army and was not aware about the function and was on his way to the house with grenade. Sources said he was returning from the operation when police team arrested him with grenade. SSP Poonch Jagjeet Kumar said that police during checking picked up a SPO with a grenade near Omar Abdullah’s function and took him for further verification where it was found that he was innocent and not aware about the function and after verification he was released. Sources said today morning the senior police officers contacted the Army officers to verify the antecedents of the arrested person and was later released. |
