| I never said Sonia remarks meant or not meant for Modi: Sibal | | | New Delhi | Dec 8 Union Minister Kapil Sibal on Saturday sought to wash his hands off the controversy over the "merchants of death" remarks claiming he never said Congress President Sonia Gandhi had not referred to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in this connection. Sibal, a senior lawyer and a former Congress spokesman, said, "I had never said that the remarks were meant or not meant for Modi." Sibal's remarks came hours after AICC officially disowned his remarks and said Gandhi did refer to Modi as "merchant of death" and the party was not apologetic about it. The minister said the controversy was due to a spin given by the media to his remarks. |
